On the occasion of its 49th anniversary, the Belmond La Samanna hotel is hosting the Festival de l’Epicurien from December 7th to December 10th. A series of encounters around French gastronomy with the presence of three Michelin-starred chefs.

In order to celebrate its 49th year of existence, La Samanna, a luxury hotel nestled in the heights of Baie Longue beach in lush greenery, had to mark the occasion. Partnering with L’Epicurien French magazine, the institution is launching its “Festival de l’Épicurien”. From December 7th to December 10th, three Michelin-starred chefs will take their guests on a top-flight culinary and tasty trip at the Samanna’s L’Oursin restaurant. One-Michelin-starred Provençal chef Xavier Mathieu will start with a tasting of great wines of France on Wednesday December 7th to discover flavors from Provence combined with French gastronomy. On Thursday December 8th, Marcel Ravin, a two-Blue Bay-starred chef from Martinique, will share his Caribbean heritage during an interactive workshop around 'Island Wines' and a tasty experience around worldwide wines. On Friday December 9th, Chef Gilles Goujon, who has received three Michelin stars for his restaurant l’Auberge du Vieux Puits in Fontjoncouse, will redefine French cuisine beyond its borders in a creative workshop, an exclusive wine-tasting ‘Wines of the world’ and a gastronomy experience combined with a selection of Grands Crus from France.
To close the festival, a gala evening will be organized on Saturday December 10th, devoted to the Arts. The three chefs will team up for a six-hand show cooking, served in the middle of artistic performances including one directed by contemporary dance choreographer Peggy Oulerich. During this venue, an exclusive presentation of the “Prince” collection from the Champagne house De Venoge, served at the court of King Louis XV of France, will also be offered.
